These new 120mm models have the same focal length as the Tal-1 but a telescope tube which is much shorter and compact, achieved by a tele-negative lens built into the focusser, allowing for greater portability. Apart from this difference, these models boast the same specification and almost the same standard equipment as the Tal-1.
